The 2012 Town Planner Calendars featuring my photography are in the mail! These free 12″ x 12″calendars were sent out to households in the Twin Cities metro communities of: Chanhassen, Edina, Excelsior, Maple Grove East/Osseo, Maple Grove West, Southwest Minneapolis, and Minnetonka. They were mailed the first half of December 2011.
The Town Planner Calendar is a community resource guide designed to be used as the calendar of choice for families throughout the year when it comes to scheduling activities. It also includes a variety of discounts and coupons for many local retailers, restaurants, and other types of businesses.
I began working on the photography for these calendars last January, and have logged many miles by car and foot in all of these communities throughout the year. It’s kept me very busy, and I’m pleasantly surprised with the overall print quality of my photographs in the final product.
It can be a challenge when working in the print world. The range of colors available for reproduction are far fewer than what you would see on a typical computer monitor, and there’s always the risk of losing important detail in the shadows and dark area. The challenge for photographers is knowing how to optimize the photograph for a four color, printed product.
In any regard, if you happen to live in one the communities listed above, be sure to keep an eye out for this calendar. It’s a great resource that includes important events in each community through out the year.If you’d like to see the photos I’ve taken in each community, just click on the links below:
